Almost a year to the day, we purchased a popular private label rights collection of WordPress training videos...
As we sell a lot of our own WordPress plugins and found customers also needed training (and because we know the WordPress tutorial/training market is a huge, profitable niche), it seemed like a great idea to buy 'em, build a membership site and help people build their blogs properly...
The plan was simple: Set a low, one time fee, help a ton of people out & make some easy cash!
However, after handing over our money for the videos (it was around $200 bucks) and downloading all them, we were truly shocked!
The video quality was horrendous, the narrator's accent made them impossible to follow and to make it worse, 80% of the videos showed old versions of WordPress and were out of date...
We junked the lot!
It was frustrating, we were down a couple of hundred bucks and the membership idea was dead in the water...
It was time to go back to the drawing board and start again, but after searching high and low for better videos (without success) we were left with just one option...
Bite the bullet and make our own! (Problem was we didn't have the time to do it ourselves!)
The solution... We contacted one of the top video tutorial makers online and asked him to make an entirely new collection for us - It cost a fortune (this guy charges a thousand bucks an hour for finished video), but the end results were worth it. We had a killer collection of videos...
But... EEK!
we needed to recoup the $10,000 they had cost us!!!
To make matters worse we were waaaay behind schedule with other launches so at the point the videos were ready we didn't have time to build or promote a new membership site. So like any self respecting marketers we offered the videos with private label rights and they sold like CRAZY!
Demand was so high the offer sold out within days and we were flooded with requests to make more videos covering advanced WordPress topics -
We did and those sold like crazy too! Both collections were made Product Of The Day and ranked #1 best sellers in the JVZoo network!
Kinda nuts... but we never got round to building a membership site figuring enough people had PLR so they'd likely do it themselves and the videos would finally get the audience they deserved.
But what's all that got to do with you...
And why are we here right now?
Well... HOUSTON WE HAVE A PROBLEM...
It turned out that for many PLR buyers, putting the videos into a member area, delivering them to end users and 'doing all the complicated, technical stuff' has proved to be a real sticking point.
For some it's lack of technical expertise, others are short on time to do it all themselves and the rest seem to have been put off by the cost of doing it all together (let's face it building a membership site from scratch isn't exactly cheap no matter what system you use to do it).
Everything came to a head when we even noticed a lot of our PLR buyers were promoting our offer as affiliates rather than promoting their own offers... When we asked why it became apparent people wanted a simpler easier solution...
