People keep asking me why i do not share in the VIP area anymore. i keep telling them, there is nothing to share worthy of the vip area. yes, there are other people who share stuff before i do, that is the main reason. you guys and gals beat me to it, thank you very much. my businesses keep me busy, plus i travel all the time. a good wifi is hard to find, it can be found in more places, but often it is not fast enough, or i do not have the time. sorry
people seem to forget, this area is for sharing the good stuff, not junk as too many people are doing now. personally, i think some people share junk here just to get some +rep, because you get very little to none, from a freebie share, even if it was a good product. i still do not understand why more people do not leave +rep, is it too hard? are you too stupid? what? if you think it is so easy finding all this stuff to share, why don't more of you do it?
the other day, in the digital publishing area in the freebie section of the BBHF, i saw a book someone shared that i read a few months back. i did not share it at that time, because i was far from any internet access. however, the book sold well, because this guy uses a lot of social media and press releases. he did some public speaking, as i often say, i go to a lot of events, conferences, seminars and mastermind meetings. i get around, and i ran across this writer, jeff goins and his boastful claims. he claimed he was responsible for the 'tribe' movement when we all know, tribes have been around for a long time. even some popular reality tv shows around the world have people who belong to tribes, they have been popular for many years. back in the year 2008, seth godin wrote a book about why tribes are important, the book is called 'tribes'! lol! i can list many more.
anyway, this jeff guy got around as well, speaking at events, etc. attention: some events need speakers, so it is not really that hard to find an event and get up in front of a lot of people to make a presentation, and if you do it well, you will get invited back again. and again, etc, i hope you get the idea. there are so many events that need speakers, you just have to look around. if you do it well, you can make it a very profitable opportunity for you to make a lot more money.
anyway, jeff goins liked going to events, speaking at events and making money at events! some people get a thrill speaking in front of a large group of people. all those people looking at you, applauding when you say something smart, making them laugh and getting the standing ovation at the end. some people speak for free, they do not try to sell you anything at the end of the speech. they get a thrill, that is why, i have seen people leave the stage and not even mention a link to their website or social media sites.
the smarter folks here will know, more often then not, the host of the event is making a lot of money, that is the purpose of the event after all. the host makes the most money, and i guess jeff figured it out. so he decided to host his own conference, since they tend to make a bit more money because they usually have more speakers. some speakers actually sponsor the events they speak at. or like jeff did, he launched his first conference in 2015 based on his most recent 'bestselling' book.

the tribe conference was a minor success, a two day event with a bunch of somewhat knowledgeable fairly unknown speakers. he had different levels of participation, charging people $205 to $509 to go to his conference. he sold tickets through a event ticket dealer, eventbrite. does eventbrite do these weird prices? or was it jeff? next year tribecon 2016 will be a little cheaper, lessons learned, lol if you do not know about eventbrite, they are something else, they have several subdivisions making millions of dollars. when i looked into them, i was amazed at what i found.
