WHY READING?
Not everyone can be like Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffet, Tony Robbins, or Claire Ortiz-Diaz, but more on that in a few.
You recognize these names as being some of the most successful people right? Well, they have some pretty interesting habits. It's been said that if you want to be more like someone then find out what they do and do it. One of the shared habits of these successful people is their reading habit.
Did you know that reading the latest non-fiction, especially in the business area could help you grow your own business? Or that reading biographies of successful people can inspire our own success? Oprah attributes her personal freedom to her reading habit. She loves reading so much, she has her very own book club. Mark Cuban, spends 3 hours a day reading to get his competitive edge. I'd say it's working.
Now that you see how critical reading can be to your success you will soon have lots books and lots of ideas generated from each new book. That means you will need a place to keep ALL your new ideas! A habit helper is what you will need and I can help you with that right here.

Active readers tend to process their thoughts as they encounter new material both with fiction or non-fiction. An amazingly simple method to process all the new ideas with your new habit is to KEEP a READING JOURNAL. This way you can go back and remind yourself of the new ideas you want to apply in your own life or new ideas you generated in general. A reading journal in addition to the reading has a compound effect on the new habit which means you will get more return on your investment!
In the year 2015, Mark Zuckerburg said he planned to read 1 book every other week. Not bad. he even had an area of concentration for that year. Now- I don't know if he kept his promise to himself, but I am sure he had his own accountability tool at his fingertips. However, he could have used a personal reading journal to record all the new ideas he was learning. Claire Ortiz-Diaz has spent several years now reading a book a week and she too probably has a way to keep track and so I ask you how will you keep track of all the new and interesting ideas that could lead you to success?
I've been a reader for a long time, beginning with some of my favorites still, Dr. Suess. I can remember moving on to the Box Car Children and Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's adventures as some early memories but How I Wish I had a record of all the book I had read along my way!
